Welcome to Zachow/Gutenpaaren

The origin of the community goes back to the year 1170. The community Zachow is structured in two villages.
Theywere the originally separated ribbon-built villages Zachow and Gutenpaaren. Today roughly 640 people live here. While in southern direction the lowland areas open the view to the Havel, the villages are bordered in the north by the 80m high Kahlen Berg andthe 60m high Windelberg.

In the centre of the community Zachow is the church situated, consecrated in the year 1359, which was enlarged in the 18th century with a tower with a curved hood, a neo-gothic lordship loge and a vestry.
Near the village is the idyllic located Trebel Lake, which offers the holidaymaker diverse water sports options.
